Peering Frisket
When she was a puppy, this baluster (?) was removed to make it easier to move stuff in and out of the apartment. Frisket would get to the top of the stairs and peer around the corner at us as we'd walk up. Recently (perhaps since the start of the year) she started doing this again: she'll run to the top of the stairs, pause, then turn around and peer around the corner (and the baluster/whatever it is called) to look back at us with a sort of quizzical: "What, how come you're not here with me RIGHT NOW" look.April 14, 2006
Fitness clubs go to the dogs amid canine boom
Via the Japan Times, Fitness clubs go to the dogs amid canine boom:
Fitness clubs where dogs can take a splash in the pool or enjoy a visit to a beauty shop are popping up all over Japan.
At Copin Dog Mediness, a canine fitness club in Nagoya, about 20 dogs exercise in the pool for rehabilitation or to shed some weight. The place is always full.
"A dog's life is about 15 years long. If you are responsible in taking care of your dogs, you adapt to changes in the family environment. This will keep both people and dogs happy," said Hiroshi Kamisato, managing director Japan Kennel Club Inc.
